BIBLE STUDY
Adult Faith Formation offers the following Bible Study programs:
A Biblical Walk Through the Mass is a study that provides a unique tour of the timeless Liturgy. Based on the revised translation of the Mass which goes into effect Advent, 2011, it explores the biblical roots of the words and gestures we experience in Mass and explains their profound significance. Participants in this study will come to know and understand the Mass like never before. They will see, perhaps for the first time, why they say what they say, and do what they do every week at Mass. The words and gestures will be seen in a new light, leading them to a richer, more fruitful worship experience. Sessions are Saturday mornings at 8:30 AM starting September 24, 2011.

Letter to the Hebrews, bible study starts on September 20. This outstanding Bible Study is basic enough to suit those who have not really studied the Bible before, while still offering deeper opportunities that will challenge the Bible Study veteran. This bible study is taught by Catholic author and apologist, Gary Michuta. His 2007 book, Why Catholic Bibles are Bigger, has been widely acclaimed as one of the most important Catholic studies of the “missing books” of the bible and the aprocrypha controversy of the 19th century in more than 100 years.
Classes will be held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, beginning on September 20, 2011 from 7-8:30 PM in the school library. This study is open to all, regardless of faith or parish affiliation, and there is no charge or registration required. This is a BYOB event: Bring Your Own Bible.
NEXT CLASS: Tuesday, March 20
HOMEWORK: The reading assignment for the next class is to read Luke, Chapter 1, paying particular attention to the Old Testament references, especially those from Genesis. Gary will spend several meetings studying many aspects of Marian doctrine, especially as they relate to Mary as the “new Eve”.
