A Biblical Walk Through the Mass is a study that provides a unique tour of the timeless Liturgy. It explores the biblical roots of the words and gestures we experience in Mass and explains their profound significance. Participants in this study will come to know and understand the Mass like never before. They will see, perhaps for the first time, why they say what they say, and do what they do every week at Mass. The words and gestures will be seen in a new light, leading them to a richer, more fruitful worship experience.
Jeff Cavin's the Bible Timeline is a remarkable study of the story of God,s relationship with humanity told through the Bible. This program consists of 24 meetings and will give participants the "big picture" they need to put the entire Bible story into context. Salvation history is covered from its beginning in Genesis through the coming of Christ and the establishment of the Catholic Church.
Marriage is one of God's most beautiful gifts and is intended to bless us, fulfill us, and give us a path to sanctity. Understanding what true love entails and how grace works to overcome our wounded human nature is the key to a holy, happy, and passionate marriage. In this six-session Bible studies, popular author and speaker Mark Hart and his wife, Melanie, help couples understand key Scripture passages that illuminate the truths about married love and the "two becoming one flesh" (see Genesis 2:24). By undertaking this study, couples will grow in their understanding of sacramental marriage so they can reflect God's plan and glory and become a witness for Christ's sacrificial love for each of us.
Matthew: The King and His Kingdom is an exciting study that explores the life and mission of Jesus as recorded in the Gospel. Matthew demonstrates how the promises and prophecies of the Old Testament are fulfilled in Christ, who establishes a New Law and inaugurates the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. See Jesus as the awaited Messiah who relives the life and struggles of Israel to become the faithful and victorious King.
The Road to Revalation is a study of the Book of Revelation preceeded by a thorough study of several of the Old Testament prophets, specifically the Book of Daniel, followed by Isaiah, Zechariah, and Ezekiel. This bible study is taught by Catholic author and apologist, Gary Michuta. His 2007 book, Why Catholic Bibles are Bigger, has been widely acclaimed as one of the most important Catholic studies of the “missing books” of the bible and the aprocrypha controversy of the 19th century in more than 100 years.
Classes will be held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month from 7-8:30 PM in the school library. This study is open to all, regardless of faith or parish affiliation, and there is no charge or registration required. This is a BYOB event: Bring Your Own Bible.
