RETREAT

The retreat is part of your child's sacrament preparation. Children will participate in meaningful activities, prayer reflection and song, in anticipation of their big day.

A few parent volunteers are needed for the retreat. If you can help with prep work before or during the retreat, please indicate so on the sign-up sheet in your child's homeroom.

FIRST COMMUNION DAY

All children meet in the school cafeteria at 12:15 PM. The Lifetouch photographer will take a group Communion picture before they line up for procession over to the church.

Do not bring purses, gloves, prayer books, etc. They will need to be left behind in the cafeteria.

In order to respect the solemnity of Holy Mass, no pictures may be taken during Mass. The children may go back into the church after Mass for pictures with Father or family members.

A videographer will record the children during the group picture taking, processing to the Church and the entire Mass. He will also capture each child individually as he/she receives Holy Communion. The video is a great keppsake and a wonderful way to share the celebratio with friends and family who were not able to attend or who may not have been able to see very well.

COMMUNION ATTIRE

When selecting your child's attire, choose clothing which will reflect the dignity and joy of the occasion. Schoolbelles, Mateja's, December's and many department stores carry traditional First Communion attire.

  • Boys- Dress pants, white dress shirt and tie. Suits are preferable.
  • Girls- White dress and veil or headpiece, white tights or anklets. Shoulders should be covered. No gloves or purses in Church.
