FIRST RECONCILIATION

The Sacrament of First Reconciliation will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 6:30 PM.

There will be a brief liturgy and examination of conscience followed by private confessions. Parents are welcome to avail themselves of the Sacrament at this time as well. Please refrain from talking while waiting to to to confession. Children and parents are asked to spend this quiet time in the presence of Jesus, in prayer. After you have gone to reconciliation, you may leave the Church. Typically everyone is done by 8 PM.

Please practice the Form for Confession with your child and help him/her to learn the Act of Contrition. The more your child practices it with you at home, the more confidence he/she will have in church.

THE FIVE STEPS OF CONFESSION

1. Examine your conscience

2. Be sorry fo your sins.

2. Resolve not to sin again

4. Go to confession.

5. Do the penance given by the priest.
