RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM Thank you for inquiring about the religious education program at St. Michael. The faith formation of your child is a privileged responsibility and we look forward to working with you to give your child the best education possible, emphasizing strong, moral values. The task of our catechists is threefold: to impart knowledge of the faith to each child, to touch their hearts so that the faith will be accepted and cherished throughout their lives, and to motivate the students into action through loving service to others. We recognize that children learn in different ways and we strive to incorporate teaching methods to suit the children’s needs. We also recognize that this can be a very long day for most of the students so creative and thorough lesson planning is done. Reviewing the chapters at home with your child and completing any homework with them, helps to reinforce the material and let’s you know exactly what they are being taught. It is expected that children will attend Sunday Mass each week and that prayer will be a part of their home life. Classes for grades K-8 are held on Mondays. They begin promptly at 4:30 pm. ending at 5:45 pm. We offer a Sunday school program for preschoolers ages 2-5. Classes are held every other Sunday during the 10:00am. Mass.
