DRAMA CLUB
Drama Club was established to give students the opportunity to learn about music theatre through live participation. Students are taught to act, sing, dance, and work together to put on a performance. Students participate in constructing and painting sets, making programs and posters, costuming, and working sound, and lights. All drama participants become members of the cast, only lead roles are auditioned. Seniors from University of Detroit high school assist in the plays production. Past performances include: Music Man, Guys and Dolls, Oklahoma, High School Musical, and Bye Bye Birdie.
- Open to all students in the Junior High.
- Rehearsals begin in September in preparation for a Spring Musical. The Drama Club meets every Wednesday morning during zero hour, 7 AM - 8 AM. Additional rehearsals are held at lunch or after school start ing in March. Dress rehearsals are held the week of the performance. Set construction and costuming begin in April.
- Rehearsals are held in the gym, as well as the performance.
- Performances are held in May, there is one afternoon school performance and two evening performances.
