St. Michael Catholic School - Livonia, Michigan

GREEN TEAM

The Green Team was established in 2009 as a ‘zero hour’ club. Participating students will determine the direction this organization will take depending on current issues.

  • All 5th through 8th graders are eligible to participate.
  • Meetings will take place once per month on Tuesday mornings from 7-7:50.
  • There is an annual anonymous application process to select officers. A charter has been created to guide the organization. Student led ad hoc committees handle a variety of projects (for example: juice pouch and pizza box brigades, paper recycling, and public awareness and outreach).
  • Students will engage in real-life problem solving as they strive to make St. Michael a more eco-friendly, energy-efficient campus.
  • Through education, members will empower themselves to implement solutions to current local and global environmental issues.
