QUIZ BOWL

Quiz Bowl is a team competition that tests your knowledge of all academic disciplines. Two teams of five students compete against each other with a lockout buzzer system. A moderator reads questions and students “buzz” in. If they answer correctly, they earn points for their team.

• All 7th and 8th graders are eligible to participate.

• Teams practice once per week on Thursdays: October through May. Participants can choose between the 7:00 am or 3:15 pm practice.

• Practices take place in a Junior High classroom.

• Area schools take turns hosting tournaments on Saturdays – approximately 2-3 per year. Team trophies are awarded for 1st - 4th place.

• For the past four years, St. Michael has entered 3-4 teams in each tournament.

• A select group is chosen to compete in the Catechism Bowl in April at Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
