1. Is scrip available for purchase at any time? Can I go into the school with a check and purchase scrip?
Unfortunately, no. A scrip order form needs to be filled out and submitted through the school along with your check by Wednesday at noon of the given week.

2. What do I do if I want to purchase a larger denomination scrip? (Ex. One $500 card instead of twenty $25 cards)
To place an order for a store or denomination that is not currently on the order form, just write the store name and the denomination that you would like on a blank line on the order form. Complete the order form as you normally would; then we’ll handle the rest. This scrip is not in inventory therefore it will be available the following week. 3. I would like to buy Barnes and Noble in the $25 amount. Can I get the larger amount listed on the Great Lakes list?
You can order different denominations of scrip if they are on the Great Lakes list we sent home. Just write them in on the right side of the form (Next Week) where the blank lines are ( fill in all the information, denomination, % , etc.). They will be available the following week.

4. Is the Great Lakes list only available until Christmas?
We’ll let you know, we are trying it for a month and will evaluate how it impacted the program and make a decision in January.

5. When I fill out a scrip order form, why is part of my order sent home the next day and the other half of my order sent home the following week?
The left side of the form is for scrip that we maintain in inventory. The right portion of the order form is for those scrip certificates that must be ordered. For the stores we maintain in inventory, we fill the order ASAP and send it out to you the next day. For those scrip certificates that must be ordered, we total all the families’ orders, and place an order with Great Lakes scrip, then wait for the scrip to arrive.

6. Can I order scrip from stores that are not on the scrip order form?
Yes, you can purchase scrip for stores that are not currently on the scrip order form. Click here for Great Lakes Scrip's complete list of available scrip certificates. Please note that there are various denominations of certificates as well.
7. I printed the scrip order form off the St. Michael web site and the top of the page was cut off. What can I do?
Don’t worry about it, send in your order. You can also update your Adobe reader and this should fix the problem.

Farmer Jack has not been on our scrip order form this year but now it is on the expanded Great Lakes list. Do you anticipate Farmer Jack coming back to our list? Can I buy them now?
No, we have decided not to carry Farmer Jack’s scrip because of the recent news of their financial condition. We feel at this time it is too risky to carry Farmer Jack’s scrip in inventory.
Yes, you can certainly order Farmer Jacks scrip by entering it in on the blank lines on the right side of the form and it will be delivered the following week. However, if you order Farmer Jack’s and the store closes tomorrow, we will be unable to refund your purchase.

9. Is my Rechargeable card (Kroger’s, Busch’s, etc…) from last year still good, or do I have to purchase a new card for this year?
Yes, last years cards are still good. Your rechargeable cards can be used as long as you continue to put money on them.
NOTE: Your rechargeable cards continue to earn you tuition voucher credit twelve months a year. A monthly statement is sent to the scrip co-chairs regardless of the school calendar. You will see the credit from summer purchases from rechargeable cards applied to the January voucher.

10. For rechargeable cards, do I need to know how much money I am going to spend on groceries in advance?
No, You can put as much money on the card as you want, up to $500. Once you purchase the rechargeable card for $5.00, your card will have a balance of $5.00 on it. You will need to add money to the card prior to your purchase at the register. You can do this either at the service desk, or at the register PRIOR to your purchase being rung up. You can use cash, check or credit card to add money to your rechargeable card.

11. Can I purchase more than one rechargeable card and why would I?
Yes, you can purchase as many rechargeable cards as you wish. This is a good way to earn tuition credit by having other members of your family (husbands, grandparents, aunts and uncles or friends) use this card while they shop.

12. Can I purchase a $5.00 rechargeable card for an amount greater than $ 5.00 ? (ex. $200.)
No. You will need to put additional funds on the rechargeable card at the store. The card is available from the scrip program with a $5.00 balance, the scrip co-chairs do not have the ability to change the value of the card.

13. Can I get Scrip Tuition Credit for recharging a scrip card from a store that doesn’t have rechargeable cards? For example, can I recharge a JoAnn’s or a Chili’s card and get credit for it?
No, St. Michael’s has no way of getting credit from stores that don’t offer the rechargeable card program. With out the discount from the stores we have no funds to apply to your Scrip Tuition Credit.

14. Can my family members get a Meijer’s card and have my account credited?
Yes, there is a space on the Meijer Community Rewards Application where you are required to record either your Organization Code or Friends and Family Linking account number. To have family & friends purchases credited to your account - you must first have a Meijer Community Rewards Account. Then enter your number from your Meijer rewards card on your friends & family applications. Then their rewards will automatically roll to your account.

15. Can my friends and family just use the St. Michael Organization Code?
It is important to use the linking procedure because if your friends & family use the St. Michael Code, the school will get the benefit, but you will not. The co-chairs (who do not know your friends and family names) will not be able to apply their credit to your account.

16. Do I have to purchase a Meijer Community Reward Card?
No, the Meijers Community Reward Card is free. Meijers mails the card directly to the applicant, at no charge. Meijers then sends a monthly statement of each cards rewards to St. Michael, along with a check for the total rewards for the month.

17. Where can I get a Meijer Reward Application?
Meijer Reward Applications are available from any co-chair, Karen Diamond, or in the back of church. At the beginning of the year, an application was included with the initial Scrip Packet. You can also complete the application on-line. Click here

18. Where can I get the Meijer School and Church Organization codes?
The St. Michael School code is 606973. The Church code is 320062. The school and church organization codes are also on the front of all the application forms.

19. I forgot to turn in my voucher slip with my June tuition payment, now what happens?
If a tuition voucher is not turned in by June 1st, for a given school year, the voucher amount will be deducted from that family's tuition bill less a $2.00 administration fee. The $2.00 fee will go to Sr. Carolyn's Tuition Assistance Fund. The $2.00 administration fee will be deducted to offset the extra time involved by the scrip committee to handle delinquent vouchers.

20. I already made my tuition payment, can I still use my voucher?
Yes, just indicate how you want to use your voucher, sign it and return it to the appropriate person. If you apply it to tuition the accounting manager will record your voucher and return a new receipt to you indicating the voucher’s been applied and your tuition balance.

21. If I purchase scrip through the church, how can I get my tuition credited?
Scrip purchased through the church is for the church only and will not be credited to your tuition for school. If you would like to receive tuition credit from scrip, be sure to place your order through the school.
