BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
The Battle of the Books for 7th & 8th Grade students happens every other year. The students are divided into teams of six or seven, by their respective literature teachers. Teams are student directed—no parent coaches. Students will generate questions, write book reports on the books, and any other activities that the literature teachers assign. There will be 8 pre-selected titles and students will compete against each other in a quiz bowl type contest. The students will receive their book prior to the Christmas break. Parents are needed during the Battle of the Books to help collect the answers, score the questions and serve lunch (pizza and a drink will be provided).
